Inter-American Court of Human Rights concluded the Fifth Edition of the Refresher Diploma Course on its Jurisprudence in El Salvador

. The Inter-American Court concluded yesterday the fifth edition of its Refresher Diploma Course on the Jurisprudence of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in the city of San Salvador. The closing ceremony was led by Licda. Bessy Aguirre de Flores, Director of the Judicial Training School of the National Council of the Judiciary (CNJ)  “Dr. Arturo Zeledón Castrillo.” Participants in the diploma course included officers of the justice administration from the Judicial Branch, the Attorney General’s Office, the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Human Rights Ombudsman’s Office, among other key institutions for the protection of human rights in El Salvador. Participants obtained a more in-depth knowledge of substantive aspects of the administration of justice and human rights, mainly those related to Articles 8 and 25 of the American Convention on Human Rights.

The sessions of the administration of justice Module were held at the facilities of the Judicial Training School and were led by professors Claudia Martin, Resident Professor at American University Washington College of Law and Co-Director of the Academy of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law of that institution, and Inés Jaureguiberry, Public Defender of the National Public Defender’s Office of Argentina.

This Diploma Course is part of the "Strengthening the Protection of Human Rights and the Rule of Law through jurisprudential dialogue, optimization of institutional capacities and compliance with the Judgments of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala” project, signed with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), which seeks to optimize the capacities of the judicial administration officers for the application of International Human Rights Law and the Jurisprudence of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights.
