On Friday, October 2, the Secretary of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, Pablo Saavedra Alessandri; the Director of the Judicial School of Honduras "Francisco Salomón Jiménez Castro", Elsa Gertrudis Calderón Godoy, and the Deputy Attorney General of the Republic, Marcia Núñez Ennabe, closed the Update Diploma on the Jurisprudence of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights.
During this training process, around 75 officials participated, including Judges, Prosecutors of the Public Ministry and agents of the Attorney General of the Republic of Honduras, who deepened their knowledge of the standards of the Jurisprudence of the Inter-American Court regarding the administration of justice.
The final module of the course was carried out through videoconferences, and this time, it was led by Professor Claudia Martin, Co-Director of the Academy of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law and Resident Professor at the American University Washington College of Law; Dr. Julieta Di Corleto, Deputy Official Public Defender of the General Defender of the Nation in charge of the General Secretariat for Training and Jurisprudence of the Public Ministry of Defense; Dr. Astrid Orjuela Ruiz, Lawyer of the Secretariat of the Inter-American Court, and Dr. Inti Schubert, Senior Advisor of the Program "International Regional Law and Access to Justice in Latin America (DIRAJus)" of the German Cooperation/GIZ.
This training program is part of the project “Strengthening the protection of human rights and the rule of law through jurisprudential dialogue, optimization of capacities and compliance with the Judgments of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras” Carried out by the San José Tribunal with the generous support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
