From August 26 to September 6, 2019, the Inter-American Court of Human Rights held its sixty-second special session in Colombia at the kind invitation of the Colombian Government. The Court sat at the Universidad del Norte in Barranquilla from August 26 to 30, while other jurisdictional activities were conducted in Bogota from September 2 to 6.

On 31 August 2018 Spain’s Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez Pérez-Castejón, visited the seat of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights as part of his official visit to Costa Rica. Mr. Sánchez held a meeting with the President of the Court, Judge Eduardo Ferrer Mac-Gregor, and the Secretary General, Pablo Saavedra Alessandri, as well as with members of both delegations.

El XI Encuentro Iberoamericano de Derecho y VIII Congreso Mexicano Procesal Constitucional "La Constitución y sus garantías. A 100 años de la Constitución de 1917", evento de índole académico fue organizado conjuntamente por los Institutos Iberoamericano y Mexicano de Derecho Procesal Constitucional, el Gobierno del Estado de Querétaro a través del Instituto de Estudios Constitucionales, el Programa Estado de Derecho para Latinoamérica de la Fundación Konrad Adenauer, el Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law y la DFG Fundación Alemana para la Investigación Científica; con el auspicio de la Corte Interamericana de Derechos Humanos, la Suprema Corte de Justicia de la Nación, el Instituto de Investigaciones Jurídicas de la UNAM, el Centro de Estudios de Actualización en Derecho, la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro y la Universidad Iberoamericana.
En este evento se reunieron destacados juristas, académicos, jueces nacionales y extranjeros, con el objetivo de presentar análisis teóricos, históricos, dogmáticos y técnicos sobre la evolución, estado actual y desafíos de la ciencia del Derecho Procesal Constitucional, todo en el marco de la conmemoración del centenario de la Constitución Política de los Estados Unidos Mexicanos. La Corte Interamericana de Derechos Humanos realizó una diligencia in situ en la República Federativa de Brasil en el marco de la tramitación del Caso "Trabajadores de la Hacienda Brasil Verde Vs. Brasil". El Caso se relaciona con la presunta omisión y negligencia en investigar diligentemente una supuesta práctica de trabajo forzado y servidumbre por deudas en la Hacienda Brasil Verde, ubicada en el norte del Estado de Pará, así como la desaparición de dos trabajadores de dicha hacienda.

El lunes 15 de febrero, entre las 9:30 y 12:00 horas, se realizó en el auditorio del Colegio de Abogados y Abogadas de Costa Rica, la toma de posesión simbólica de la nueva directiva de la Corte Interamericana de Derechos Humanos y la juramentación de los nuevos Jueces y Jueza. Asimismo, la Corte Interamericana organizó un Seminario Internacional titulado "Historias y perspectivas de la Corte Interamericana de Derechos Humanos en un mundo global".
Una delegación de la Corte Interamericana de Derechos Humanos visitó el 4 de noviembre de 2015 la sede de la Corte Africana de Derechos Humanos y de los Pueblos en Arusha, Tanzania. La delegación de la Corte Interamericana estuvo conformada por los Jueces Humberto Antonio Sierra Porto, Presidente; Roberto F. Caldas, Vicepresidente; Diego García-Sayán, Eduardo Ferrer MacGregor, Pablo Saavedra Alessandri, Secretario y el abogado Bruno Rodríguez Reveggino. Por parte de la Corte Africana estuvieron presentes los Jueces Agustino Ramadhani, Presidente; Elsie N. Thompson, Vicepresidente; Duncan Tambala, Sylvain Ore, Elhadj Guisse, Ben Kioko, Solomy Bossa, Angelo Matusse, y el Secretario Registrar Robert Eno.
La Corte Interamericana celebró del 28 de septiembre al 9 de octubre de 2015 su 111 Período Ordinario de Sesiones en San José, Costa Rica. En el marco de éste, se emitió seis sentencias, que serán notificadas próximamente, se celebró una audiencia pública sobre medidas provisionales y se dictó dos resoluciones. Asimismo se realizó la conferencia internacional titulada "Fin a la impunidad en crímenes contra periodistas".
La Corte Interamericana celebró del 31 de agosto al 4 de septiembre de 2015 su 110 Período Ordinario de Sesiones en San José, Costa Rica. En el marco de éste, se estudió la posibilidad de emitir cuatro sentencias, además se celebraron dos audiencias sobre supervisión de cumplimiento de Sentencia, entre otros.
